2012 Neighborhood Picnic Set for Sep. 30

The Willow Meadows Civic Club is pleased to announce that the plans for the 2012 Neighborhood Picnic are well underway.  The picnic will be held at Willow Park on Sunday, September 30th, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.  The response to last year's picnic was so overwhelming, that this year's picnic will follow the same format , with free food and drinks, live entertainment, fun and games, arts and crafts, and a commercial expo. If you were unable to make it to the picnic last year, you really missed a great event, and we urge you to mark your calendars early for this year!

Live Entertainment
This year, we will once again be providing a stage for live entertainment during the picnic.  The group, Silvershoes, has agreed to a return engagement and we hope to have many more performers from our own neighborhood this year.  If you are part of a performance group, and would like to perform at the picnic, please let us know, so that we may reserve a time slot in the schedule for you.  One of the groups that performed last year actually picked up a couple of bookings as a result of their performance.  You just never know when you might get discovered! For more information on scheduling your group, please request a registration package at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Fun and Games
OK, so not all of us can sing and dance or play musical instruments.   There will be plenty of opportunity to demonstrate your skills in pitching horseshoes, or my favorite, simply sitting under a shade tree for a game of checkers.  Willow Park features a couple of tennis courts and a volley ball court - Organize a team and take on all comers – Let us know what you want to do at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Arts and Crafts
Again, this year will have informal arts and crafts show for residents of our neighborhood - If you are involved with creating or selling arts and crafts, you will be able to purchase a space for this grand opportunity to bring your products to your neighbors.  Whether you are buying or selling, October is a great time to find those one of a kind arts and crafts that make such interesting holiday gifts.  What a wonderful opportunity to share your talents with your neighbors, and have some fun.  If you would like to participate in the Arts and Crafts Bazaar, please request the Arts and Crafts Bazaar registration package from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Commercial Expo
We will also have a gallery for commercial vendors that want to display their goods and services to residents of our neighborhood.  Each vendor will have an opportunity to purchase exhibit space so that they may set up and display services or products that might be important to our residential community. These vendors are very important to  our picnic, and contribute to the overall success of the picnic. If you are a business owner, you should consider participating in the picnic.   Imagine being able to reach out to over 800 residences in a matter of a couple of hours. For complete details and to sign up for this unique event, please request the Commercial Exhibit Gallery registration package from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
