Willow Waterhole Music Fest 2016

Join us Saturday April 23rd 11am-10pm and Sunday April 24th 11am-9pm at Willow Waterhole Park for two days of free live music in a relaxed setting, featuring 16 professional bands and 10 area schools!

Bring your favorite lawn chairs and blankets. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Recycling to Continue but Glass no Longer Accepted

The City of Houston and Waste Management have reached tentative agreement on a new 2-year contract that will allow the city to continue offering recycling services without any disruption. The only change in service that Houstonians will notice is the elimination of glass from the list of items that are acceptable for placement in the green curbside single-stream recycling bins.  Glass, currently has no value on the commodities market, breaks down during collection and transportation and is unduly destructive to the processing equipment.

Residents will still have the option of dropping off glass for recycling at the City's neighborhood depositories.

March 2016 General Meeting Announcement

The First quarter General Meeting will take place on March 8th, 2016 at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall of Willow Meadows Baptist Church, 4300 West Bellfort, Houston, Texas 77035. Topics will include general association business, standing committee reports, as well as new and unfinished business.

 

City of Houston 2016 Capital Improvement Plan Meetings

Citizens encouraged to attend meetings in their Council districts, learn about projects and plans, voice questions and community concerns

The City of Houston invites residents to participate in the annual Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) process at public meetings scheduled for dates in late February and through early March, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in each City Council district.  The meetings afford residents an opportunity to hear from city officials about CIP projects in their districts, voice questions and concerns and provide input regarding needed community improvements and services. ReBuild Houston updates and the City's draft Bike Plan will also be presented. To view the ReBuild Houston Draft "5 +5" Ten-Year Plan, visit www.rebuildHouston.org. To view the city's Capital Improvement Plan for Fiscal Years 2016-2018 and for a schedule of meeting dates by City Council district, visit www.houstontx.gov/cip. The city will provide reasonable accommodations to citizens with disabilities and special needs by request in advance of the meeting date.
